Better Austin Today PAC

Why Better Austin Today?

Austin’s political scene is dominated by moneyed interests and an “insiders know best” perspective. It is time to make our government accountable to ensure that decisions are made in the public interest, not just for special interests. We need a community coalition to champion issues that people care about and to fight for what is important to our city’s future.

A Coalition for Austin

We are people who love Austin and share a common vision for her future. We live in all parts of town and are active in all aspects of community life, including neighborhoods, environment, small and local business, social services, education, and the arts, music, and film.

Coming Together for Good Government

We want a government with a solid commitment to democratic principles. A government that engages with and is responsive to all community members. A government with common sense. One that is not impervious to facts or above the law. That treats its residents as constituents to be served, not adversaries to be handled. A government that values public participation, our environment, and our neighborhoods and schools.

Our Objectives

Better Austin Today engages the community to raise awareness of important issues and interviews candidates based on community-wide concerns. We endorse those candidates who share our vision for Austin’s future. Then we work to get them elected!
